Greetings Earthlings. One of the many reasons we are so focused on trees and forest issues in the show is because many of our fellow Climate Crisis activists and environmentalists are not. Over the years we've sought to have the critical issues of forest protection and preservation integrated into the climate movement and have utilized this show to help with the work. With that in mind, George Wuerthner joins us to discuss his recent piece "Greatest Good Is To Preserve Forest Carbon" in The Wildlife News.
This man rejects peer reviewed science and stands outside the scientific community. His messaging is based upon aesthetic and ill-informed emotional reactions. Perhaps ego plays into the flawed logic as this provides a convenient platform to claim a hidden truth known only by selective groups of citizens outside of the community of scientists and practitioners who strive to protect the environment. It is privilege to reject the sustainable use of natural resources in our backyard in favor of using those same resources as sourced elsewhere.
